At Orsett we have adopted a school uniform as we firmly believe that it fosters a feeling of belonging and encourages children to take a pride in their school. We are very grateful to parents for supporting the wearing of uniform.
In May we adopted a new logo.
Our PE kit is changing for September. We are moving away from house coloured T-shirts to a standard blue sports top for all children with black bottoms (see below). We will be continuing to keep children wearing PE kits on their PE days and this will allow the children to look more uniformed. We would like all children to ideally be in this uniform please from September. We appreciate you may have blue tracksuits that still fit for winter from this year which we will allow to be worn with the new T-shirt but would prefer that these are replaced as soon as possible. The new PE top is available from Uniformwise now.
All uniform is slowly being updated so that it has the new logo on it. Stockists are slowly updating stock. If your child has old logo uniform that still fits this can be worn until it needs replacing.
The uniform is as follows:
Royal blue jumper (with school logo)
KS1 and KS2 – White shirt school tie
Black or grey socks
Book bag with school logo
Royal blue jumper or cardigan (with school logo)
KS1 and KS2 – White shirt with school tie
Grey skirt, pinafore or trousers / Blue and white checked summer dress
White socks or grey tights
Blue or white hair accessories
Blue logo sports T-shirt
Black Shorts, sports leggings or skort, black tracksuit for winter (optional)
Plain Black zip up hoodie
Plimsolls or trainers (black and non-marking)
For reasons of Health and Safety we recommend that all shoes should be sensible and sandals have a back to them.
Jewellery worn is as follows:
One wristwatch One pair of stud earrings (which need to be removed for P.E or covered with micropore tape-supplied by home)
If a child is wearing more jewellery than this they will be asked to remove it and it will be returned at the end of the school day as we wish to avoid any unnecessary accidents. The school cannot accept liability for the loss of expensive jewellery. Any items of school uniform that are likely to be taken off should be clearly marked with the child’s name.
All uniform can be purchased from Sue’s Schoolwear in Grays, Uniform wise in Stanford-Le-Hope and Uniforms by Niki who also are happy to embroider royal blue jumpers and cardigans that are purchased elsewhere:
